The Ground Zeroes Companion App is now preserved on iPhone
iOS Preservation 1.0.8 fixes Mother Base player-data uploads so the preservation server can associate progress with the correct registered account and include iPhone players in the website rankings. It retains the level-based bonus character unlocks from 1.0.6 and the existing SideStore / TrollStore installation options. Update in place; do not delete the app or register a new account.
Your Android phone does not have to be 32-bit
The Android APK needs 32-bit ARM application support (armeabi-v7a), but it can run on a 64-bit phone if the firmware still supports 32-bit apps.

Mother Base player-data uploads and website rankings fixed
- Uploads use the full original registration ID, allowing the server to associate Mother Base progress with the correct iOS account.
- Fixes the upload identity problem that prevented affected iPhone accounts from appearing in the website rankings.
- Prevents a Mother Base restore path from overwriting the registration ID with the callsign.
- Promotes the successfully device-tested 1.0.8 build without changing its executable or bundle identity.
- Retains bonus character progression, cassette playback and the existing installation options. Update in place to keep your local save.
Console bonus character progression restored
- Ports the Android preservation build's level-based console bonus officer unlock system to iPhone.
- 19 bonus personnel previously tied to retired console-linked progression now unlock naturally as Mother Base level rises.
- Uses the same Android progression thresholds: level 10, then every five levels through 95, with the final restored officer at level 99.
- Retains the modern-device compatibility introduced in 1.0.5, including successful iPhone 16 / SideStore installation.
- Keeps callsign handling, local Mother Base saving, cassette playback, safe-area tuning and server routing unchanged.
- SideStore users already subscribed to the mgsvgz.com source can update in place; the source URL does not change.
Modern iPhone installation compatibility
- Removed the legacy
UISupportedDeviceswhitelist that caused newer iPhones to be rejected during installation. - Declared the app's actual ARM64 requirement instead of the obsolete ARMv7 device capability inherited from the original package.
- Confirmed installing successfully on iPhone 16 through SideStore.
- Kept the proven callsign, Mother Base, cassette, local-save and safe-area behaviour unchanged.
Callsign reliability and safe registration handoff
- Promoted the exact live-tested Direct Callsign 1.0.4 build to the public iOS Preservation 1.0.4 release; the app binary was unchanged from the successful test build.
- Writes decoded callsign blocks directly into the persistent local callsign slot, removing the older intermediate string-copy path that was implicated in intermittent random names.
- Keeps the hardened callsign validation and UID fallback so malformed local data cannot reach the original Mother Base player-name assertion path.
- Works with the current iOS registration service, which now generates parser-safe alphanumeric encoded registration payloads to prevent the intermittent callsign corruption/fallback reproduced during testing.
- Retains duplicate-callsign protection, inappropriate-language filtering and persistent rejection messages during registration.
- Preserves local Mother Base progression, restored cassette playback, legacy iDROID / DATA PORTAL notices and horizontal safe-area tuning.
- Repeatedly live-tested with short, long, mixed-case and punctuation callsigns on iPhone 12 / iOS 15.6.1 / TrollStore.
Callsign crash protection and registration safeguards
- Added hardened callsign validation and a trusted local marker so malformed saved name data falls back safely instead of aborting Mother Base startup.
- Added duplicate-callsign and inappropriate-language registration safeguards while preserving the existing Mother Base identity and local progression model.
First public iPhone preservation release
- Introduced the first public iOS preservation release with restored callsign registration, native Mother Base access and local iPhone progression.
- Restored cassette metadata, download and playback using the iOS-specific cassette path.
- Added modern-iPhone horizontal safe-area tuning while leaving the vertical renderer path untouched for Mother Base stability.
BlueStacks Mother Base renderer stability fix
- Introduces a targeted BlueStacks compatibility fix for instability seen while entering and rendering Mother Base.
- Reduces the decorative background renderer workload while retaining the complete map draw path and Mother Base functionality.
- Uses the existing v0.23+ preservation release signing identity, so users can install v0.26 directly over v0.23/v0.24/v0.25.
Legacy storage permission cleanup
- Removed the inherited legacy WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission from Android and BlueStacks after compatibility testing.
- Local Mother Base save data remains in the app's private internal storage.
- No Mother Base, cassette, iDROID or DATA PORTAL preservation behaviour was changed by this cleanup.
Legacy online feature handling
- iDROID and DATA PORTAL open preservation notices through the original in-app browser instead of retired service errors.
Privacy and release signing
- Removed the inherited legacy READ_PHONE_STATE permission and introduced the current Android/BlueStacks preservation release signing identity.

Get-FileHash .\filename.apk -Algorithm SHA256macOS / Linuxshasum -a 256 filename.ipaAndroid may ask you to allow installation from an unknown source when installing an APK manually. Only install files downloaded directly from this preservation website and verify the SHA-256 checksum above.
SideStore: no jailbreak is required, but its initial setup requires a computer, Wi-Fi, an Apple Account and periodic seven-day refreshes when using free Apple signing. If the Stable SideStore build installed through iLoader cannot sign in or connect to Apple services, use the current SideStore Nightly build; this resolved the issue during our iPhone 16 test. Nightly is pre-release software, so Stable remains preferable when it works. TrollStore / jailbreak: the direct IPA route remains available for compatible devices. iOS Mother Base progression is local, so refresh/update in place and do not delete the app if you need its current save.
